We met in an intensive UX program and saw at once that our work together was sharper than anything we made alone.
Subtraction Design grew out of that collaboration. The same exchange between strategy and development shapes every project today, and it remains the part of the work we enjoy most.

Our philosophy
A principle is valuable because it gives judgment a structure. It becomes a liability when it overrides the evidence. In practice, a crowded navigation may need consolidating, while a donation process may need steps added to build a donor's confidence.
